— Interactive 3D news visualization platform

NewsGlobe — a real-time interactive 3D world news map

Development of an experimental web platform that visualizes global news through an interactive 3D globe.

The project rethinks traditional news consumption by transforming information browsing into an exploratory digital experience. Instead of scrolling through static feeds, users interact with the planet itself, discovering news spatially and visually in real time.

The platform combines:
3D visualization;
data-driven UX;
interactive frontend;
motion-driven navigation;
RSS/XML aggregation;
and immersive information architecture.

NewsGlobe — a real-time interactive 3D world news map
— Task

Rethink how users interact with global news

The primary objective was to create a digital platform capable of visualizing the global news landscape through a spatial and interactive interface.

The system needed to merge:
news data;
geography;
UX;
visualization;
and interaction design
into a unified exploratory experience.

The project intentionally moved away from conventional:
“news feed + categories”
patterns in favor of a real-time digital exploration environment.

Special attention was placed on:
visual navigation;
interactivity;
emotional engagement;
frontend performance;
and information readability.

— Approach

Data visualization as an immersive digital experience

The project was built at the intersection of:
data visualization;
interactive UI;
GameDev-inspired interaction systems;
frontend engineering;
and product UX.

At the center of the experience is an interactive 3D Earth displaying real-time news events from RSS/XML feeds as dynamic spatial points.

Users can:
rotate the globe;
explore regions;
zoom into areas;
open news nodes;
customize news sources;
and build their own global news ecosystem.

Special attention was given to:
motion UX;
depth perception;
visual hierarchy;
microinteractions;
performance optimization;
and creating a sense of a living information system.

The interface was designed not as a traditional media dashboard, but as an immersive exploration environment.

NewsGlobe is an experimental web platform designed to visualize global news through an interactive 3D globe, combining immersive UX, real-time data visualization, and modern frontend technologies.

The project was created as an alternative to traditional news interfaces, transforming passive information consumption into an interactive digital exploration experience where users navigate global events spatially and visually.

At the core of the platform is an interactive globe system displaying news events from RSS/XML feeds as dynamic data points distributed across the planet. Users can:

  • rotate the Earth;
  • zoom into regions;
  • explore geographic areas;
  • open news nodes;
  • read summaries;
  • and access full articles directly from the interface.

The UX architecture focused on:

  • exploratory interaction;
  • motion-driven navigation;
  • immersive information architecture;
  • and creating a sense of digital discovery.

Special attention was given to:

  • 3D performance;
  • smooth interaction systems;
  • render optimization;
  • responsive UX;
  • visual hierarchy;
  • and readability in complex information environments.

The visual language combines:

  • dark futuristic aesthetics;
  • minimal UI;
  • cinematic motion;
  • interactive mapping;
  • and layered information systems.

NewsGlobe demonstrates how modern web technologies can transform data-heavy platforms into immersive digital experiences for interacting with information and global media flows.
